You Can Enjoy Literature!
a series of literature modules that engages students' imagination through the process of critical reading, thinking and writing

YCEL001 Short Stories by Local Authors
(Upper Primary & Secondary)
Short stories by local authors such as Catherine Lim, Tan Mei Ching, Ovidia Yu and Ho Minfong will be used. Their stories depict the adventures and lives of Singaporeans and other nationals, craftily woven with literary techniques that are worthy of a closer look not only as texts for secondary school students but also for those who enjoy literature as a leisurely read. Fun-filled interactive activities are included to draw on the students’ experiences and to help them engage fully with the characters.

YCEL002 Enjoy & Write Poetry
(Primary & Secondary)
Students will be introduced to poetry as something they can easily pick to read, enjoy and write. Freedom, spontaneity and experimentation will be encouraged throughout even though they will also be expected to use structural poetic forms and basic conventions of poetry that seemingly restrict and bound them. As they are led though the whole writing process, they will be challenged to look for the best angle to approach their subject matter and also relish the joy of successfully finding the right word at the right time.
