Heroes of the Concrete Kampong
Mastereign Centre of Performing Arts is proud to present our inaugural school assembly show, ‘Heroes of the Concrete Kampung’ with topics of racial harmony, friendship, social responsibility, neighbourliness, kindness, prejudice, compassion, racism and other National Education messages. This educational and entertaining emotive Play will come with full sound system, a production team of professional cast and crew completes with visual Set, props, costumes and captivating background music. It can be offered as a value-added component for any workshop targeted at the entire level as part of the students’ arts exposure education.

Poetry Theatre

PTS001 Read And Tell (Lower Primary)
Workshop develops children in reading and choral recitation skills. They will focus on creating expressions, actions and expressiveness in voice to perform-recite their given poetry text while learning about drama and theatre. Workshop employs drama as an effective tool to language learning and speaking. Development of character value, Unity, throughout workshop. A certificate of participation will be given to each student.

PTS002 Poetry Comes Alive
Workshop will foster an appreciation and enthusiasm for poetry learning in a fun way. Students will learn to read, recite and dramatize poetry focusing on face, voice, speech, sounds, actions, movements and body combining with performance forms such as tableaux and physical theatre while learning about drama and theatre. Such learning helps students who struggle with understanding the written word, thus, the provision of a physical and visual context in drama work can help them make sense of the language. Development of character value, Self-Expression, throughout workshop. A certificate of participation will be given to each student.

Readers Theatre

RTS001 Puppets Alive!
This workshop is largely inspired by the musical Avenue Q. It will focus on developing students who are self –conscious to be confident young reader-performers concentrating on using just the voice and face to dramatise-read the story. They will learn to make and use hand puppets to ‘act out’ the characters in the story they have recreated within a story based on any known text. Development of character value, Imagination, in the workshop. A certificate of participation will be given to each student.

Story Theatre

STS001 Stories Alive!
This workshop can be customized with the focus on story theatre developing students to be storytelling-actors taking turn to narrate and act out the story. The storytelling skills learnt will help them in their everyday social interactions and oral presentations in class. They will recreate their own short story based on folk tales, fairy tales, and newspaper articles. Students will then learn to dramatise it and stage the skit in a combined classroom setting. Character value, Social Interaction, will be infused in the workshop. A certificate of participation will be given to each student.

Page to Stage

PTS001 Performance Texts Alive!
This workshop can be customised to develop students to bring their text alive from page to stage. They will recreate a short performance text based on their school literature books or known stories to dramatise it with basic acting skills and performance forms. Finally, they will learn to stage the skit and perform it to each other in the form of a ‘workshop’ performance in a combined classroom setting. Character value, Self-Esteem, will be infused throughout the training. A certificate of participation will be given to each student.

PTS002 Dramatic Texts Alive! (Upper Primary)
This workshop helps develop students to look at stimulus such as lyrics, poetry, pictures, news articles and known stories to discuss and explore issues/themes to learn to recreate a short performance text. They will then learn to dramatise the story with basic acting skills and performance forms. Finally, they will learn to stage the skit and perform it for one another in a combined classroom setting. Development of character value, Self-Esteem, throughout the training. A certificate of participation will be given to each student.

Performance Theatre

PT001 Community Musicial Theatre (NAC-AEP)
This workshop offers artistic direction, training in theatre/acting/dance/singing and production guidance with logistics/technical support. The musicial will showcase original songs and a packaged DVD copy of the recorded performance will be given to the school. Development of character value, Determination, will be emphasized throughout the training.

PT002 Acting Alive!
An acting workshop that can be customized for school’s events like speech like speech day/anniversary celebrations/open house events/competitions…etc. It provides the school with artistic direction; production guidance with optional logistics/technical support and trains students professionally in production, staging, acting, movement, voice, speech while learning about drama and theatre. Trainer will infuse character value, confidence throughout the training. A certificate of participation will be given to each student.

Fusion Theatre (Signature Programme)

FTS001 Theatre Alive!
This workshop can be customized to combine drama with other art forms incorporating school’s other CCAs towards a high energy fusion stage production. Students will be trained in various arts disciplines and electives involving drama, dance, music, fashion design, make-up, video production, 2D/3Danimation and props making. Finally, they will come together to showcase their talents and acquired skills in a concert linked by a dramatic story.

FTS002 School Out! Drama In!
A 5-day holistic day camp to develop students in acting, story writing, drama and theatre while learning about dance and undergoing multi sports training and team building activities to build leadership qualities, physical attributes, fitness, discipline and coordination. Camp will conclude with group devised performances with a campfire on the final day. Development of character value, Discipline, throughout the training. A certificate of participation will be given to each student.

FTS003 Drama Club WOW!
A one-year fusion drama workshop that can be customized with 3 components. Exposure – watching a Play. Experience- the process provides students with a focused holistic training in drama, acting, performing, production and theatre to maximize their artistic potential and performing abilities for competitions and performances. Excursion – theatre visits to enhance their learning. Character value, Excellence, development throughout the training. A certificate of participation will be given to each student.
