Media Arts Programme
NAC-AEP

Mastereign Media Arts has had 12 new programmes endorsed by the NAC n- AEP (national Arts Council Arts Education Programme) this year for the next 2 years! This endorsement allows schools to tap on their NAC Tote Board Funds for Media and Arts enrichment programmes for students in the years 2007 and 2008.

Motion Creation
Students will create their personal models from materials such as clay or plasticine. They will also learn to create stop motion video with models they have created, conceptualise the storyline and have these models act out the scenes in full sound and music. The whole aesthetic and learning process, together with the skilful use of video editing software, will be fun and memorable for the students.

Playthings!
Students will create movable models and learn to manipulate them frame-by-frame using the stop motion video. They will start with building their own puppets and props, then move onto morphs, dialogue, walks and animation. A fun and hands-on approach will be used throughout the programme.

Fonts@Play
Students will explore and experiment with letter forms and page layout for expressive communication. They will learn fundamental typographic principles, font recognition, and analysis of both historical and post modern design theory. On an application level, they will learn the technique of using typography to represent concepts, objects, actions and emotions in advertisements, posters, newsletters and other visual communications

Color Your Emotions
Colour is a powerful tool of expression in the fields of visual arts and design. It has been used extensively by artists and designers to express or evoke a gamut of human emotions. This programme equips students with the knowledge in the psychology of colour and the techniques in using them to convey emotions. Through special thematic projects like posters, postcards and cover pages, students will get to apply and experiment with colours.

Package It!
This programme teaches students the skilful art of creating packaging that is both creative in design and well-balanced in concept. With the aim of implementing classroom learning, this programme offers students a look into the thoughts and processes that go into the packaging industry.

Digital Art Camp
Through many productive hours and having fun together, students will gain interest and insight into the world of visual art and animation. Their creative thinking and computer skills will be put to good use as they are challenged to design quality digital artwork for desktop publishing, web pages and other creative communications.

Exploring Digital Art with IT
This programme allows students to explore various techniques of capturing images and presenting them with multimedia tools. An interesting field trip is incorporated to stimulate imagination and creativity.
