Ball Sports

BS001 Tchoukball
A new sport that is played with the combined rules and skills of handball, captain’s ball and volleyball. Participants will learn the fundamental techniques of passing, shooting and dribbling and the various types of offence and defence techniques. In the process, they will foster greater teamwork and team play.

 

BS002 Touch Rugby
Touch rugby is where players do not tackle but instead touch their opponents using their hands or any part of the body, clothing, or the ball. In this course, participants will learn the foundations of touch rugby. They will also be introduced to different offensive techniques. In the process, they will develop an interest in Touch Rugby as a competitive or recreational sport.

 

BS003 Handball
This course provides students with the basic knowledge, skills, and understanding of handball. The approach is games centric, presenting a basic understanding of offence and defense as key features of handball, and also as a territorial-type game. The course will also look to promote teamwork and sportsmanship.

 

BS004 Soccer
A fun-filled course where participants will understand more about soccer games and learn different ball skills. Participants will learn to dribble, pass and shoot at goal. They will also be introduced to different offensive techniques. In the process, they will develop an interest in soccer as a competitive or recreational sport.

 

BS005 Floorball
This is a fun and fast-paced indoor team sport where players use composite sticks with plastic vented blades. The aim is to put a plastic ball into the opponent’s goal.

 

 

BS006 Netball
Students will learn about the basic of netball to develop an interest in competitive or recreational level. They will learn the different passing techniques and various shooting techniques in netball.

 

 

BS007 Basketball
Participants in this course will learn to dribble, pass and shoot in the basket. They will learn to dodge opponents using different offensive techniques. The course will also include an explanation of the rules and regulations.

 

 

BS008 Dodgeball
Participants in this course will develop an interest in this game as a competitive or recreational sport. They will learn skills such as passing, throwing and dodging.

BS009 Pickleball
Pickleball is played by 2 or 4 people on a badminton-sized court using wood paddle racquets and a plastic, poly baseball with holes. Pickleball can be played on any hard surface and is ideal for small spaces. This exciting sport can be played on driveways, cul-de-sacs, tennis courts, and multi-purpose game courts. Pickleball is a combination of Ping-Pong, tennis, and badminton and has been enjoyed for over 20 years by people of all ages.

BS010 Badminton
This programme provides students with a basic knowledge skills, and understanding of badminton. Repetitions will be widely used so that the students can develop strong fundamental skills. The key is to focus on effective learning through a mixture of friendly fun and intensity at a moderate level.

 

BS011 Whiffle Hurling
Whiffle Hurling was invented in July 2005. It is a game of “aesthetics” and it’s fun game offering a genuinely new fresh blend of activity. The crazy intensity of Irish hurling
mixed with the low-stress, low-injury appeal of Whiffle ball. It manages to be
simultaneously casual and intense, which is a perfect mix for students who are looking for something new, creative and fun.

BS012 “Stick” Man Hockey
A stick handling game which consists of 7-11 players in each team. It can be played on a court or an artificial pitch. The objective is to pass and score goals using a hockey stick. Includes theoretical explanation of the rules and regulations.

 

 

BS013 Baseball/ Softball
This is a very popular, challenging and fun team sports game. The proper throwing, and batting of the ball will be taught. It includes explanation of the rules and regulations.

 

 

BS014 Beach Volleyball
The programme promotes teamwork through fun gaming concepts. Emphasis is placed on helping children to develop fundamental physical skills, promoting lifelong skills such
as teamwork and importance of exercising/ sports. Conducted on the beach, students get to enjoy the sun, the sand and the sea.
