Dance Fitness
DFS001 Aerobics Fitness
Shape up your body through this fun fitness workout! Participants in this course will experience a full body workout through various cardio routines.
DFS002 Hip Hop Groove
Evolving out of street and break dancing moves, this funky dance class will be taught to the latest funk, rap and R & B music. It is characterised by its vigorous athletics and bouncy style. This dance course will include basic movement and techniques to the latest popular music with a variety of rhythms. Emphasis will be on the coordination of arm patterns and body movements with simple dance steps.
DFS003 Street Jazz Fitness
Spark an interest in dance as a fitness form and a means of self-expression! Participants will be introduced to the basics and culture of modern dance. They will be exposed to beats, rhythms and tempo and appreciate the diverse movements the human body is capable of. They will also be encouraged to apply these movements in relation to the rhythmic sound of urban music.
DFS004 Dance Factory
Students will be taught the basics of various dance discipline such as Jazz and Hip Hop. Students will also be taught key performance skills such as lines, projection, energy, stage usage, awareness and audience awareness. Students will then be challenged to combine and apply what they’ve learnt in both disciplines in a dance performance. They will also work towards creating original dance choreography in groups.
DFS005 Creative Movement
This programme creates awareness in students about their own bodies, movement and the use of imagination and creativity to simulate different movements in the world around them. This programme foster teamwork through communication and dance steps. It introduces the uses of a body and its movements as a tool for expression and communication. Students will understand the relationship between movements, music, rhythm and tempo.
DFS006 Yoga
Learn the basics of yoga and its benefits. Participants in this course will learn about mind and body control while executing the different yoga moves and poses.
DFS007 FunkAsia
Students will be introduced to the cultures and traditions of the various ethnicities in Asia through the traditional dances. Students will also learn contemporary dance discipline such as Jazz or Hip Hop and fuse these disparate dances together. In doing so, students are taught not only to appreciate the diversity of cultures and dances from across the region and across time but to also instruct students on the importance of being flexible and adaptable.
DFS008 Pilates
Learn Pilates as a new form of exercise! The course focuses on integrating the entire body through exercise, rather than exercising each body part separately. Participants will learn how to focus on their body as a whole to achieve better alignment and recondition their body to work more efficiently. They will also learn how to design a short individual Pilates routine to keep fit.
DFS009 Dance Conditioning
This programme introduces students to conditioning exercises that dancers go through to maintain and improve their flexibility, strength and stamina.
DFS010 Bollywood Fusion
This programme introduces students to the energetic and fun dances commonly found in Bollywood movies. Students will learn about teamwork and also build up their stamina with the many high energetic moves used in Bhangra dances.
DFS011 Cardio Kick Boxing
Get fit through cardio kick boxing! This course introduces participants to the basics of kick boxing that include punching, kicking, thrusting and rhythm body combo. Participants will also learn how to integrate all these into the flow of music and have a greater appreciation for self-defence movements and a healthy lifestyle.
DFS012 Gymnastics
Physical exercises designed to develop and display strength, balance, and agility, especially those performed on or with specialized equipment.
