Printmaking Series

PM001 Silk Screen Printing
This workshop introduces the historical development of printmaking and its commercial contribution as a form of art. Students will learn creative applications such as using layered printing, single and multicolour printing, understanding elements and principles of art and design. They will learn three basic types of matrices such as blocks for cuts, linoleum for linocuts and fabric plates for silk screen-printing.

PM002 Block Printing
Block printing is an ancient printing technique, and numerous examples of past block prints can be found in museums all around the world. This programme engages students with several block printing techniques such as carving, scoring, scratching and many more. They will learn how to create simple and intricate design which can be printed to paper or textiles using single or multi-colour printing techniques.
